Masters of Pastry 2022
Masters of Pastry, the Zeelandia fine pastry competition that was organised last year digitally, this year took place live in the Netherlands on September 7th & 8th.
The Zeelandia pastry chefs, who participated from Portugal, Holland, Romania, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Poland and Hungary, had the opportunity to showcase their technical skills and creativity in fine pastry, using Zeelandia products. Contestants were asked to create a vegan pastry and a healthy snack on the go, for which they were scored on creativity, taste, texture, appearance and the story behind the dessert selection. Sefco Zeelandia's pastry chef, Vagelis Kallioras, was one of the jury members and last year's winner of the Masters of Pastry 2021 competition. The Masters of Pastry 2022 award was given to Poland with the pastry chefs Daniel Waliszewwski and Piotr Krysiak, while Italy won the Best Snack on the Go award and the Netherlands the Best Storytelling and Best Vegan Cake awards.
